The Central African Republic is a landlocked country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Chad to the north, Sudan to the northeast, South Sudan to the southeast, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the south, the Republic of the Congo to the southwest and Cameroon to the west. The CAR covers a land area of about 620,000 square kilometers.
The cuisine of the Central African Republic is characterized by its use of local ingredients and traditional cooking methods. Staple foods include cassava, yams, and plantains, often served with sauces made from peanuts or palm oil. Meat, such as chicken, goat, and fish, is commonly grilled or stewed. The use of spices and herbs like ginger, garlic, and hot peppers adds flavor to dishes. Popular dishes include "muamba de galinha," a chicken stew with palm oil, and "kanda," a meatball dish made with ground peanuts. The cuisine reflects the country's agricultural practices and cultural influences from neighboring regions.
