US citizens require a visa to enter Ethiopia. Visas can be obtained at the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington, D.C., or online through the Ethiopian e-Visa service. Visas on arrival are also available for US citizens at Addis Ababa (Bole) International Airport, but it is recommended to secure a visa ahead of travel.
