Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is approximately 1,070 km (665 mi) east-southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina; 1,236 km (768 mi) south of Cape Sable Island, Canada; and 1,578 km (981 mi) north of Cuba.
Bermudian cuisine is a unique blend of British, Caribbean, and African influences, reflecting the island's diverse cultural heritage. Seafood is a staple, with dishes like fish chowder, often seasoned with black rum and sherry peppers, being particularly popular. Other local favorites include spiny lobster, rockfish, and wahoo. Traditional British dishes such as fish and chips and shepherd's pie are also common, alongside Caribbean-inspired dishes like jerk chicken and curried goat. The use of fresh, local ingredients, such as sweet potatoes, bananas, and pawpaw, is prevalent, adding a distinct island flavor to the cuisine.
