tempura

Next Dish: Panta Ilish

Tempura is a traditional Japanese dish usually consisting of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep-fried. The batter is typically light and airy, made from cold water, wheat flour, and sometimes eggs or baking soda. The dish is commonly served with a dipping sauce, such as tentsuyu sauce, and is often garnished with daikon. Tempura has been popular in Japan since the 16th century, influenced by Portuguese missionaries and traders.
