Next Dish: Seasoned Rice
Rock Lobster, also known as spiny lobster or langouste, is a type of marine crustacean that is popular in seafood cuisine around the world. Unlike true lobsters, they lack large claws and have a hard, spiny exoskeleton. The meat is found in the tail of the creature, which can be prepared in various ways such as boiling, grilling, or baking. It is often served with butter or lemon juice and is a staple in dishes like paella and lobster thermidor.
Recipe
Ingredients:
1 whole lobster (about 1.5 pounds)
1 lemon
1/2 cup of melted butter
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to medium heat.
While the grill is heating up, prepare the lobster. Kill the lobster by inserting a knife into its head. Then, cut the lobster in half lengthwise. Remove the intestines and the sac located near the head.
Rinse the lobster under cold water to clean it. Pat it dry.
Squeeze the juice of the lemon over the lobster. Then, season it with salt and pepper.
Place the lobster on the grill, shell side down. Cook it for about 10 minutes.
While the lobster is cooking, mix the melted butter and minced garlic in a small bowl.
After 10 minutes, flip the lobster over and brush it with the garlic butter. Cook it for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and cooked through.
Remove the lobster from the grill and serve it with the remaining garlic butter on the side.
