Ramen is a Japanese dish that consists of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a meat or fish-based broth, often flavored with soy sauce or miso, and garnished with ingredients such as sliced pork, dried seaweed, and green onions. The dish has Chinese origins but has been modified and popularized in Japan, where it is considered a staple food. Variations of ramen exist based on regional flavors and ingredients. It has gained international popularity and is commonly served in restaurants and instant versions are available for home preparation.
Recipe
Ingredients:
2 packs of ramen noodles
4 cups of chicken broth
2 teaspoons of soy sauce
2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon of ginger, minced
2 eggs
2 green onions, chopped
1 cup of cooked chicken, shredded
1/2 cup of corn kernels
1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms
Instructions:
In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.
Add the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger to the pot and stir well.
Once the broth is boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook for 3 minutes, or until the noodles are tender.
While the noodles are cooking, bring a small pot of water to a boil and add the eggs. Cook for 7 minutes, then remove from heat, drain the hot water and fill the pot with cold water to stop the cooking process. Once the eggs are cool, peel them and cut them in half.
Once the noodles are cooked, divide them between two bowls. Pour the broth over the noodles.
Top each bowl with half of the shredded chicken, corn, mushrooms, and chopped green onions. Place a boiled egg half on top of each bowl.
Serve hot and enjoy your homemade ramen.
