placki-ziemniaczane
Next Dish: Caril de Amendoim
Placki Ziemniaczane is a traditional Polish dish, often translated as "potato pancakes". The dish is made by grating raw potatoes into a fine pulp and mixing it with flour, onions, eggs, and seasoning. The mixture is then fried until crispy and golden brown. It can be served with a variety of accompaniments, including sour cream, sugar, or a meat sauce.
Recipe
Ingredients:
5 large potatoes
1 onion
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
Peel and grate the potatoes and onion on a box grater or in a food processor.
Squeeze out as much liquid as you can from the grated potatoes and onion, and discard the liquid.
In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes and onion, eggs, flour, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
Drop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the pan and flatten with the back of a spoon.
Fry the pancakes until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
