Macaroni and Cheese, often abbreviated as mac and cheese, is a popular dish of English origin consisting primarily of cooked macaroni pasta and a cheese sauce, typically cheddar. In its classic form, it is baked in the oven to achieve a crispy crust. The dish has many variations, including the addition of other ingredients such as breadcrumbs, meat, and vegetables. It is considered a comfort food in many cultures, especially in the United States.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
While macaroni is baking, melt 2 tablespoons butter in a pan over medium heat. Add bread crumbs and stir until butter is absorbed, 2 to 4 minutes.
Remove cover from macaroni, sprinkle bread crumbs over macaroni and sprinkle with paprika.
Bake, uncovered, until top is bubbling and golden brown, about 20 minutes more.
