lagostada

Next Dish: Saloona

Lagostada is a traditional Portuguese seafood dish primarily made from spiny lobster, also known as "lagosta" in Portuguese. The lobster is usually boiled and served with a sauce made from its own juices, butter, garlic, and white wine. It is often accompanied by potatoes and a salad. The dish is particularly popular in coastal regions of Portugal, where seafood is abundant.

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lobster tails

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup of white wine

  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley

  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. Cut the lobster tails in half lengthwise.

  3. In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.

  4. Add the white wine to the saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the wine has reduced by half.

  5. Add the heavy cream to the saucepan and simmer until the sauce has thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Brush the lobster tails with the garlic and wine sauce.

  7. Place the lobster tails on the grill, cut side down, and cook for 5-7 minutes. Turn the tails over and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque.

  8. Serve the grilled lobster tails with the remaining sauce, a sprinkle of fresh parsley, and lemon wedges on the side.
