Recipe
Ingredients:
500g macaroni
500g minced beef
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can of peeled tomatoes
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
100g grated cheese
2 eggs
100g breadcrumbs
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until they become soft and fragrant.
Add the minced beef to the pan and cook until it is browned. Make sure to break up any large chunks of meat.
Stir in the can of peeled tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes until it thickens.
In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni and beef sauce. Mix well until the macaroni is coated with the sauce.
In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and then add them to the macaroni and beef mixture. Mix well.
Pour half of the macaroni and beef mixture into a baking dish. Sprinkle half of the grated cheese over the top.
Add the rest of the macaroni and beef mixture on top of the cheese layer and then sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over the top layer of cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
Let the Imqarrun cool for a few minutes before serving.
