Recipe
Ingredients:
500 grams of grey peas
200 grams of bacon
1 large onion
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
2 bay leaves
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Instructions:
Soak the grey peas in cold water overnight.
Drain the peas and put them in a large pot. Add water until the peas are covered and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, add the bay leaves, salt, and pepper, and let it simmer for about an hour until the peas are soft.
While the peas are cooking, dice the bacon and onion.
Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and add the bacon. Cook until it's crispy.
Add the diced onion to the bacon and cook until the onion is translucent.
When the peas are cooked, drain them and remove the bay leaves.
Add the bacon and onion to the peas and mix well.
Serve hot.
