Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of Gboma leaves

  • 500g of meat (beef or goat)

  • 4 crabs

  • 2 smoked fish

  • 2 fresh tomatoes

  • 2 large onions

  • 4 cloves of garlic

  • 1 ginger root

  • 4 tablespoons of palm oil

  • 1 cube of chicken bouillon

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Start by washing the Gboma leaves thoroughly and then chop them into small pieces.

  2. In a large pot, add the meat, crabs, smoked fish, chopped onions, crushed garlic, and grated ginger. Add water and let it simmer on medium heat.

  3. While the meat is cooking, blend the tomatoes in a blender until smooth.

  4. Once the meat is cooked, add the blended tomatoes, palm oil, and chicken bouillon cube to the pot. Stir well and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Add the chopped Gboma leaves to the pot, stir well, and cover the pot. Let it cook on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the sauce from sticking to the pot.

  6. After 30 minutes, add salt and pepper to taste. Stir well and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.

  7. Your Gboma Dessi is ready to be served. It can be enjoyed with rice, yam, or any side of your choice.
