Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium chicken, cut into pieces

  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 piece of ginger, minced

  • 3 tomatoes, chopped

  • 3 tablespoons curry powder

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon thyme

  • 1 hot pepper, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 cups water


Instructions:

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.

  2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and minced ginger to the pan and sauté until the onion becomes translucent.

  3. Add the curry powder, turmeric, thyme, and chopped hot pepper to the pan and stir well to combine.

  4. Add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook until they are browned on all sides.

  5. Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan and stir well to combine.

  6. Add the water and salt to the pan, then reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

  7. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, then serve the cari poulet hot with rice.
