bibimbap

Next Dish: Banana Bread

Bibimbap is a traditional Korean dish that literally translates to "mixed rice". It typically consists of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables), gochujang (chili pepper paste), soy sauce, or doenjang (fermented soybean paste), a raw or fried egg, and sliced meat, usually beef. The ingredients are stirred together just before eating. The dish is renowned for its balance of flavors, textures, and colors, reflecting the Korean philosophy of obangsaek, or the harmony of the five basic colors.
