Bakso is a popular Indonesian meatball, or a meat paste made from beef surimi. The word "bakso" can refer to a single meatball, a bowl of meatball soup, or the meatball itself. It is often served with yellow noodles and rice vermicelli, garnished with fried shallots, celery, and a sweet soy sauce or chili sauce. Its texture is similar to the Chinese beef ball, fish ball, or pork ball.
