About:
Kanungu, a district in southwestern Uganda, was established in 2001, carved out of the larger Kabale District. It's known for the tragic events of the Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God cult in 2000. Despite its challenging past, Kanungu has shown resilience, focusing on agriculture and education for development. Today, it's home to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for mountain gorilla tracking.
